On a balmy late afternoon in Tokyo, Wales secured a thrilling 29-25 win over Australia in the Rugby World Cup, solidifying their position in Pool D.
The match, played in front of a 47,885-strong crowd at Tokyo Stadium, saw Wales take an early lead with a drop-goal from Dan Biggar just 37 seconds into the game.
Biggar's early strike was followed by a try from Hadleigh Parkes, who outleaped Marika Koroibete and spun past Dane Haylett-Petty to dot down in the corner.
However, Australia fought back in the second half, with Bernard Foley crosskicking perfectly to veteran Adam Ashley-Cooper, who stepped inside Josh Adams to scramble over for a deserved try.
The match remained intense, with both sides trading penalties and tries, but Wales ultimately emerged victorious, thanks in part to a try from Gareth Davies and a penalty from Rhys Patchell.
With this win, Wales will now be confident of finishing their pool unbeaten, with their next opponents Fiji in Oita on October 9 and Uruguay in Kumamoto four days later.
