September 29, 2019, marked a somber day for exiled opposition activist Miguna Miguna as he shared the news of his sister-in-law's passing, Angelina Aoko Ondiek.
Miguna took to social media on September 28, 2019, to express his grief and recount his close relationship with the deceased.
He remembered Angelina for her kind heart, recalling the time she raised him when he was a young boy.
"You raised me when I was a young boy. We have had a fantastic relationship for decades. You had the heart of pure gold," Miguna stated.
From his exile in Canada, Miguna lamented being robbed of the opportunity to say goodbye to his departed kin.
"Unfortunately, the despots (President Uhuru Kenyatta and allies) have made sure that I could not say goodbye to you. Rest in Peace," Miguna wrote.
His followers took to Twitter to condole with the deported activist, offering prayers for the family during this difficult time.
