Deputy President William Ruto has fired back at Youth and Gender Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Rachel Shebesh for openly endorsing ODM party candidate Imran Okoth during Kibra by-election campaigns.

On September 28, 2019, Ruto took to Twitter to express his disappointment with Shebesh's move, declaring her a rebel who should be ignored and treated with utmost contempt.

"All Jubilee party supporters should ignore and treat with utter contempt rebels and those rejected by the electorate who now deceptively purport to speak for the party leadership. Let's give Mariga our flag bearer moral, material and prayerful support. Victory is surely beckoning," Ruto tweeted.

He called on Jubilee members to show support for their Kibra candidate McDonald Mariga and ignore party rebels, assuring them of sweet victory.

Shebesh is one of the Jubilee Party members who have publicly declared their support for ODM candidate Imran Okoth in the Kibra by-election.
