Manchester City secured a crucial 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park on September 28, 2019, to maintain their second position in the Premier League.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, and Raheem Sterling proved decisive as they snuffed out Everton's attempted resurgence after Dominic Calvert-Lewin's equalizer.

Jesus returned Pep Guardiola's rotation by scoring the opener for Man City, thanks to Kevin De Bruyne's sublime assist, which caught Everton napping with a diving header.

However, Everton's hopes were revived when Calvert-Lewin headed home Coleman's chip, which he claimed was well beyond the goal line and into the net.

But Mahrez stepped up to take the freekick, which he skillfully scored to the delight of the away fans.

And just when City looked done, Sergio Aguero delivered a low cross that Jordan Pickford deflected into the hands of Raheem Sterling, who made no mistake in smashing the ball home.

With this win, Liverpool are now five points ahead of Man City with 21 points.
