On September 28, 2019, Tusker made a stunning comeback to defeat Sofapaka 3-1 in a Kenya Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Michael Madoya, Hillary Wandera, and Luke Namanda were on target for the 2016 champions in the 46th, 53rd, and 71st minutes respectively.

However, Sofapaka's consolation goal was scored by Elly Asieche from the spot deep in extra-time.

Before the match turned in their favor, Tusker had several scoring opportunities, including a close-range shot by Brian Nyakan that was saved by goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure.

Timothy Otieno also had a penalty saved by Isima Watenga after George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo was fouled inside the box.

After a barren first half, Tusker made a double substitution at the restart, which seemed to spark a change in their fortunes.
