Published on September 28, 2019, a court in Rongo found a Probox driver guilty of carrying excess passengers.
Senior Magistrate Raymond Langat ruled that Daniel Nyamau breached traffic rules by carrying sixteen passengers in a car whose capacity is four passengers.
The court fined Nyamau Ksh.67,000, which includes a fine of Ksh.2000 for driving with an expired insurance cover.
The court gave the accused 14 days to appeal the judgement, failure to which he will either serve 13 months jail term or pay Ksh.67,000 fine.
