As of June, Nairobi City County has implemented a new parking system, replacing Jambo Pay with the Internal Revenue Management System (IRMS).

The IRMS system allows users to pay for parking using mobile money options such as MPesa, providing a convenient and secure way to manage parking payments.

To pay for parking in Nairobi, follow these steps:

  1. Send a message to the Nairobi City County ePayments service, and select the 'Parking' option.
  1. On the next page, choose from the following options:
  • Daily Parking
  • Seasonal Parking
  • Off-street Parking
  • Penalties
  • Parking Status
  • Offloading Zone
  • Back
  • Main Menu
  1. If you want to pay for parking for one day, select the 'Daily Parking' option and enter your vehicle's number plate.
  1. Choose the zone you are in (e.g., CBD, Westlands, Kilimani, etc.) and select the category of your vehicle (e.g., private car, bus, etc.).
  1. You will be asked to pay the applicable fee (e.g., Ksh. 200 for a private car).
  1. Select '1' to proceed with payment, and a message will pop up on your phone asking if you want to pay the specified amount.
  1. Enter your MPesa PIN for automatic payment.

Upon completion, a message will be sent to your phone confirming your payment details.
