As the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) team led by Yusuf Haji works to submit their report within the next 30 days, a potential showdown looms in the parliament.

According to sources, the BBI team's recommendations could lead to the introduction of a powerful Prime Minister's post, effectively restructuring the government.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are expected to receive the report, which may not include a referendum as previously anticipated.

Deputy President William Ruto's allies in parliament are opposing the BBI, claiming it is being used to expand the Executive and accommodate losers in the election through backdoor means.

On the other hand, President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila's allies are expected to support the BBI proposals, potentially leading to a serious confrontation in the parliament.

Some MPs have expressed concerns that the report should be tabled in parliament for vetting before being backed, citing the need for legal grounding.
