Former Nairobi women representative Rachael Shebesh has come out to deny claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta endorsed Jubilee's McDonald Mariga in the Kibra by-election.
Shebesh, who is now campaigning for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate in the area, made the claims on September 18, 2019, when she was speaking to women in Kibra.
"I was at State House when Deputy President William Ruto instructed the President to endorse Mariga in the by-election," Shebesh said.
Shebesh also claimed that Ruto and his team used the back door to enter State House, where they met with the President.
"We all know that the President is a very unpredictable person, he has a loud voice. After taking a photo with Mariga, would you hear him speak the truth? I know he was instructed and the photos were rejected from being shared online," Shebesh said.
Shebesh also warned the public to disregard the photos of the President endorsing Mariga, saying they have no meaning.
She also called on the people of Kibra to support the peace message between former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, and promised that they will enjoy the fruits of their labor.
