On September 27, 2019, the Labour court made a significant ruling in favour of Wilson Sossion, allowing him to hold two offices simultaneously.
Justice Maureen Onyango ruled that there is nothing unconstitutional about Mr Sossion being the secretary general of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) and a nominated Member of Parliament (MP) at the same time.
The court's decision came after petitioners sought to have Mr Sossion removed from the Knut position, citing that he was currently holding a full-time State office.
