Derby County captain Richard Keogh was involved in a severe car crash on an unknown date, leaving him unconscious and potentially ending his career earlier than expected.

According to reports, Keogh was driving teammate Tom Lawrence's Range Rover when it crashed into Mason Bennett's car before wrapping around a lamppost.

Emergency crews found Keogh unconscious, and his teammates rushed to his aid.

A source revealed that Tom Lawrence's car was traveling at high speed before crashing into Bennett's car, which then flipped and crashed into a lamppost.

Lawrence's car was carrying Richard Keogh, who was sitting on a pile of gear with his legs up and to the side. His knees were also to the side, and he smashed into the car, suffering severe facial injuries.

The players had been offered a lift by the club but rejected it and continued drinking before the crash.

Keogh, 33, is currently recovering from his injuries, but it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play again.
