On Thursday night, a couple in Rurii village, Nyandarua County, met a gruesome end. Their bodies were discovered on Friday afternoon, with stab wounds and deep cuts pointing to a murder.
According to James Njuguna, a colleague of the deceased man, both their phones had been switched off, prompting a search for them at their home. It was there that they found the body of their colleague lying in his bedroom with deep cuts on the head.
"Both of their phones had been switched off, prompting us to look for them at their home only to find the body of our colleague lying in his bedroom with deep cuts on the head," Njuguna said.
Police in Ol Kalou were informed, and upon searching the house, they found the body of the wife in a pool of blood. "The police found the body of his wife in a pool of blood," Njuguna said.
Boaz Cherotich, the Nyandarua county commander, confirmed the incident and stated that police have launched investigations. "We are yet to establish the motive of this killing. We urge anyone who has information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to inform the police," he said.
The bodies were taken to JM Kariuki Memorial hospital in Ol Kalou for post-mortem examination.
