Fake Currency and Gold Seized in Nairobi Nightclub Raid

On September 27, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted a raid at Plan 254 Club on Nyangumi Road in Nairobi's Kilimani area, seizing one million fake United States dollars.

During the operation, officers also impounded 147 bars of fake gold, 3,000 black notes of US dollars in denominations of $100, and four locked portable safes.

Flamboyant Kenyan businessman Stephen Mark Oduk, also known as Lucas Mbadi, was arrested during the raid and is set to be arraigned in court.

Oduk has a history of cases related to dealing with fake gold and money laundering, according to reports.

The operation was conducted following a tip-off from members of the public, highlighting the importance of community involvement in combating crime.
