On September 27, 2019, ODM leader Raila Odinga visited the Precious Talent School in Ngando, Dagoretti South, to pay his respects to the eight students who lost their lives in a tragic incident.

Accompanied by area MP John Kiarie, Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris, and Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga, Odinga was visibly moved by the tributes paid by the pupils.

Abilasha Muthoni, a pupil, recited a touching poem in honour of the eight pupils, saying, 'In one brief moment, you slipped away into the next life. What a sad day in this country? You have left a void in your families, Precious Talents School, community and Kenya at large.'

Passaris approached the little girl and wiped away her tears, saying, 'Though our hearts weigh heavily, we are all at peace, knowing that in God's heart you have rested. To the families, may God comfort you at this time. To the injured ones, I wish you a speedy recovery.'

When he stood to speak, Raila Odinga condemned the tragedy in the strongest terms possible, saying it was something that should have never happened. He assured the school of his support and that of the government and issued a donation of 1M shillings from him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
