Published on September 27, 2019, police in Kenya have made a breakthrough in the murder of Chetan Vyas, the manager of Rai Cement factory in Kericho County.
On Wednesday, a watchman at the factory was arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Mr. Vyas.
According to Stephen Chacha, a criminal investigation officer, the watchman was arrested for removing a ladder used by the gangsters to access the compound before the murder.
"We have arrested a watchman at the factory in connection with the incident because he removed a ladder which was used by the gangsters to access the compound before the murder," said Mr. Chacha in a brief statement.
Investigations revealed that the guard failed to report the incident to the police and was captured on surveillance cameras moving the ladder used by the gangsters.
Deputy Police Commander Patricia Nasio explained that the suspects gained entry into the house through the roof by removing the tiles, and once inside, they strangled Mr. Vyas to death in his bedroom.
The suspects also ransacked the house and made away with six sacks.
