On September 27, 2019, a group of Jubilee leaders, including Maina Kamanda, CAS for Youth Gende, Sports Rachel Shebesh, Wajir Women Rep Fatuma Gedi, and Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, were spotted in Kibra drumming up support for ODM candidate Imran Okoth.

Their move comes after MPs allied to the Kieleweke faction declared their intention to campaign for Imran Okoth, citing his status as the Handshake candidate.

Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi has been vocal in her opposition to Jubilee's party candidate for Kibra seat, McDonald Mariga. According to Gedi, Jubilee made a wrong choice by settling on Mariga, who has no track record and a tainted reputation due to his involvement in the betting business.

“We really made a wrong choice as a party by settling on Mariga who has no track record despite having a successful football career and earning millions of shillings. He has no single project in Kibra under his name,” said Gedi.

Gedi further criticized the nomination process, describing it as unfair and designed to favor Mariga over other aspirants who were better placed to lead the constituency.
