On September 27, 2019, Kisumu All Starlets embarked on a tour of Nairobi to face relegation-threatened teams in the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL).
The team, led by coach Juma Said, aimed to build on their 7-3 mauling of Oserian Ladies in their previous match and secure a top three finish in the league.
"We have prepared well for the game and we want to improve our tally and break into the top three positions," said Juma.
One of their opponents, Kayole Starlets, were eager to bounce back after a 1-1 draw with Kibera Girls Soccer Academy and were desperate for three points to improve their position in the league.
"All we need is three points this weekend because we are not happy with our position. It will be a tough match because they have been playing well consistently but our plan is to play behind the ball and master their tactics first then counter them," said Sakwa, Kayole Starlets' coach.
The matches were scheduled to take place at Camp Toyoyo, with Spedag facing Kisumu All Starlets at 1pm, followed by Kayole Starlets taking on Kisumu All Starlets at 1pm, and Makolanders facing Kibera Girls Soccer Academy at 3pm.
