Caroline, a frequent traveler, has a habit of returning home with gifts for her family, but rarely for her husband. When asked why, she simply says, 'That is your job!' This response has left her husband wondering if women are indeed selfish and only interested in receiving gifts.

He recalls the times he has brought back gifts for Caroline, including perfumes, clothes, and electronic gadgets, which always seem to put a smile on her face. However, when it's her turn to bring gifts, she rarely does, except for a few occasions when she has brought him a novel, a Kindle Reader, or a cologne.

As a husband, he feels appreciated when Caroline brings him gifts, but it's a rare occurrence. He has come to the conclusion that women are more interested in receiving gifts than giving them, a notion that is confirmed by his married friends.

With women's education and empowerment on the rise, one would expect to see a change in this behavior. However, it seems that the notion of women being selfish and only interested in receiving gifts remains a reality.

As the author notes, 'What is the point of women going to school and adapting feminine notions of Western women (mostly the worst aspects) without embracing the good side?' This question highlights the need for women to reevaluate their priorities and make a conscious effort to give back to their loved ones.
