On 27 September 2019, rapper Octopizzo spoke about the upcoming by-election for the Kibra parliamentary seat, stating he doesn't have a preferred candidate.
However, he expressed his admiration for the late Ken Okoth, saying he would have been his preferred candidate due to their close working relationship and Okoth's support for art and music.
Octopizzo also shared his views on the current candidates, stating it's hard to know what they will do for Kibra as they seem to be focusing on tribal politics.
He noted that none of the candidates have met with him and the youths to discuss their plans for the area, unlike Okoth who met with him and the youth representatives to discuss their needs.
Octopizzo ruled out running for the Kibra MP seat, citing bigger ambitions, including vying for a presidential position when the right time comes.
He expressed his desire to represent the youth in the country, not just in Kibra, and mentioned that he has someone in Turkana who looks up to him and needs change.
On legalising marijuana, Octopizzo stated it would be his first order of business as President, as people are abusing the herb instead of using it for medicinal purposes.
He believes legalising marijuana would help control its consumption and allow people to appreciate its values.
Octopizzo also called out youthful members of parliament who use their popularity among the youth to become politicians, stating that being a leader and a celebrity are two different things.
