Published on September 27, 2019, Nonso Amadi's music career has been a remarkable journey. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, he grew up listening to international artists such as Sisqó and Jon Bellion, who greatly influenced his afro-fusion sound.

Nonso Amadi is a self-taught producer, writer, and singer. He is famous for his ever-green tracks such as 'Tonight', 'No Crime', 'Radio', and 'Emergency', to mention but a few.

He began his music career in 2012 while at Covenant University, where he pursued Chemical Engineering. In 2014, he ended his studies in Nigeria and moved to the UK to complete his degree at Swansea University. He now holds a Master's degree from McMaster's University in Canada.

Business Insider SSA caught up with Nonso Amadi while he was in Nairobi headlining a major show. This was his first time in Kenya, and he said he was having a ball and enjoying the Kenyan sun and hospitality.

'It has been really good; I only came in last night but I have seen the streets and the people and its really beautiful environment to be in, I am enjoying myself,' he told BISSA.

Nonso Amadi's music is shaped by experiences and imagination. He draws inspiration from things he has heard other people say and is now more imaginative in his songwriting.

When asked about his all-time top five music tracks, Nonso Amadi mentioned Chronixx's 'S mile Jamaica', Michael Jackson's 'Heal the World', Wizkid's 'Ojuelegba', Sisqó's 'Unleash the Dragon', and Drake's 'Hunger'.

Nonso Amadi's income is mainly from shows and streaming. He spends his money by investing it back into his music, making videos, promoting, and marketing. A chunk of it also goes into savings.

Given a chance to meet with three people of his choice, Nonso Amadi would choose to have conversations with Drake, Aliko Dangote, and either Oprah or Beyoncé.

After a hard day at the studio, Nonso Amadi unwinds by sleeping it off or watching a movie.
