Published on September 27, 2019, a new IPSOS survey has shed light on the most and least trusted professions globally. Bankers, along with politicians and government ministers, have been ranked among the least trusted professions.
According to the survey, six in 10 of the global public rate scientists as trustworthy, while only one in 10 consider them untrustworthy. The latest edition of the Global Trustworthiness Index also shows that doctors and teachers are among the most trusted professionals.
Interestingly, the survey found that Indians see the armed forces as the most trustworthy profession, while in China, it is the police. In contrast, politicians, government ministers, and advertising executives come at the bottom of the list, with trust ratings of 9, 12, and 13 percent respectively.
Professionals are most trusted in China, followed by India and Canada. On the other hand, Argentina, South Korea, and Hungary are the bottom three countries on the index, indicating high levels of distrust.
