On September 25, 2018, billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi raised alarm over attempts on his life, claiming that Interior PS Kibicho was behind the threats.
Wanjigi, a supporter of Raila Odinga, tweeted that masked people in camouflage uniforms were trailing his car in a Land Rover, just days after he vowed to expose Kibicho.
"This happened after I vowed to #ExposeKIBICHO. I will not be cowed and will not cave in. Luckily, today I'm also armed to the teeth with my full security detail," Wanjigi tweeted.
Wanjigi has previously been involved in serious altercations with police officers, including a dramatic chase along Forest Road.
He is not the only one pointing fingers at Kibicho. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has also claimed that Kibicho is behind a plot to assassinate him, with claims that a police officer formerly attached to Sonko had been paid to poison him.
Additionally, EALA MP Simon Mbugua has accused Kibicho of targeting him for supporting DP Ruto.
