On September 26, 2019, Nairobi will host the first Stream event in Kenya, an 'unconference' that promises to revolutionize the way over 100 brand leaders think and drive the future of communication from an African perspective.
The event, hosted by WPP-Scangroup, is a series of global events that bring together the best minds in marketing, technology, communication, and brand building to discuss and debate the latest trends and ideas.
According to the World Bank Economic Update, the Information and Communication Sector in Kenya experienced a 12.8 percent growth in 2018, driven by the expansion of the digital economy, including mobile telephony, e-commerce, and internet penetration.
This has led to a bombardment of information to consumers, making it essential for businesses to cut through the clutter and be heard.
As Bharat Thakar, CEO and founder of WPP-Scangroup, notes, 'The only skill that has been a constant in all my years of experience is having an open mind.'
Thakar emphasizes the importance of bringing together the best minds to discuss and challenge the norms, saying, 'We want to revolutionise how more than 100 brand leaders from various sectors across the region think and drive the future of communication from an African experience.'
The Stream event in Nairobi will feature discussions on various topics, including e-commerce, brain function, and the systems that influence thinking, as well as an exhibition of solutions, demonstrations, and products from partners that are already looking into the future of communications and technology.
