On September 26, 2019, at around 8 pm, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted a sting operation in the Riruta area of Nairobi, arresting two suspects in possession of a large quantity of narcotics.
The suspects, Mohammed Kebbay, 23, and Jogy Fondo, 29, were found with 68 packets of cocaine, as well as other substances including biscuits suspected to be laced with narcotics, a weighing machine, and several packets of bhang.
The detectives also recovered three mobile phones from the suspects.
The two suspects are currently being held at the Kilimani Police Station, awaiting further investigation and possible prosecution.
Earlier on September 24, 2019, police had arrested two other suspects, including a Kenya Airways employee, who were found with narcotics believed to have been smuggled into the country from the United States.
