On September 26, 2019, Ezekiel Mutua, the CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), appeared on NTV's Sidebar show, where he showered praise on Akothee for her positive transformation.
According to Mutua, Akothee had taken his criticism positively and had accepted to lead the path of a respectful public person. He claimed to have played a significant role in shaping her current positive mindset.
Mutua described Akothee as a role model who is swiftly taking up the integral role of reshaping society's humanity and walking in the footsteps of what being a celebrity entails.
However, this is a significant change of tune from Mutua, who had previously bashed Akothee for her indecent performances and accused her of lacking basic decency as a woman.
Despite the initial backlash, Akothee has since been associated with positivity, particularly after extending a helping hand to the less fortunate in Turkana.
