Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) turnover retreated from a week high of Ksh1.2 billion on September 25 to post Ksh273 million at closing bell on September 26, 2019.

This marked the third time in four days that the bourse had posted a turnover of below half a billion, following low trading volumes on Monday and Tuesday.

The decline at the NSE was particularly evident in the retreat of Safaricom shares, which had been responsible for the significant jump experienced on Wednesday.

At the market indicators, the indices all experienced slumps, with the NSE 20 share Index down 7.85 points to stand at 2439.71, the All Share Index NASI down 1.20 points to stand at 144.50, and the NSE 25 Share index shedding 25.77 points to settle at 3461.86.
