OPPO A9 2020 Officially Announced for Kenya ¶
OPPO has announced the A9 2020, a mid-range smartphone that replaces the original A9 launched in April 2019. The new phone is expected to be available in the Kenyan market, although no specific dates have been given.
The A9 2020 features a quad-camera setup with a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and an extra 2MP sensor for macro-shots. The main camera has an aperture of f/1.8 and can shoot 4K videos at 30fps. The front camera is a 16MP shooter that can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
One of the notable upgrades in the A9 2020 is the 5000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 4020mAh battery in the original A9. The phone also features a Snapdragon 665 processor, Bluetooth 5.0, and runs on Android 9 Pie with OPPO's custom ColorOS 6.1.
However, the display on the A9 2020 has been downgraded to a 720p panel from the 1080p panel on the original phone. Additionally, the phone still uses a Micro-USB port, which is surprising given that some budget phones, such as the Redmi 8A, have already moved to USB-C.
The price of the A9 2020 has not been announced, but it is expected to be around KES. 27,000, similar to the original A9. When OPPO Kenya shares more details on the phone's availability, we will update this article.
