On September 26, 2019, Paxful, a global peer-to-peer bitcoin marketplace, launched a mobile wallet app in Kenya to enhance ease of bitcoin transactions.
The mobile app, the first of its kind in the peer-to-peer bitcoin trading space, allows users to conveniently send and receive bitcoin via their own private Paxful wallets.
Through the app, users can access global commerce from the comfort of their mobile devices, making and receiving local and global payments with ease.
The app features real-time transaction updates, bitcoin conversion rates, and a history of trades, among other features.
Users can also purchase bitcoins using over 300 payment methods available on the Paxful platform.
According to Ray Youssef, CEO and Co-founder of Paxful, "We are thrilled to provide a mobile platform that will give more people access to bitcoin and allow users to conveniently access their wallets on the move. This is in line with our commitment to helping the unbanked and underbanked gain financial freedom."
Kenya has seen a significant rise in interest in bitcoin, with the country ranking among the top 5 with the highest number of Paxful users.
