Published on September 26, 2019, AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Shikanda has called upon the club's fans to turn out in large numbers to support the team as they host Chemelil Sugar FC at the Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday.
Shikanda expressed confidence in the team's ability to secure a win, citing their previous match against Wazito FC, which they won 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
"We are preparing a team that will be results-oriented, and fans should expect to see a win this Sunday," Shikanda said.
Leopards have been camping in Mumias since their match against Wazito, with the aim of focusing on their next assignment without exhausting the players with travel-related issues.
"The team is in Mumias and has not returned to Nairobi since playing Wazito. We wanted them to camp away to prepare very well in readiness for the Chemelil match," Shikanda added.
Shikanda also encouraged fans to register as members of the club, citing the importance of having a large membership base to attract sponsors.
"Sponsors want to see numbers, and so it is upon us to register in large numbers as Leopards members to have an easy time getting sponsorship," Shikanda said.
The chairman refuted claims that the USSD code 417# was aimed at collecting funds from fans, stating that the main target was to have as many members as possible.
