On Sunday, the Concours D'Elegance will take place at the Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi, showcasing some of Africa's oldest sports and vintage cars and motorcycles.
Organized by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Kenya, the event has attracted a diverse range of participants, including three motorcycles from South Africa and 13 motorcycles and five cars from Uganda.
Among the oldest machines on display will be the 1916 BSA motorcycle of Beven Beckman, which will compete against the 1925 DKW of Satpal Jabbal, a multiple winner of the event.
The oldest car in the parade ring will be the 1927 Dodge of Magdi Riad, with other notable entries including the 1928 Ford Tudor and John Wroe's 1928 Ford model A pickup.
Other participants include Sachit Shah, who will enter his 1965 Mercedes Benz 230 SL, among others.
Brookside Dairy and Commercial Bank of Africa have pledged significant support to the event, with Brookside donating Ksh 1.3 million and CBA contributing Ksh 500,000.
Chairman of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Kenya, Peter Ondayi, has assured fans of their security and entertainment as they witness some of Africa's oldest machines being paraded.
