Published on September 26, 2019, WhatsApp began rolling out a feature for Android users to share status stories directly onto Facebook stories.

Similar to Instagram, WhatsApp status stories now allow users to post images, text, and videos on their profile for 24 hours.

Users can share their WhatsApp status on Facebook by following these steps:

  • Share a status on WhatsApp
  • Click on the photo or video you want to share on Facebook
  • Click on the three dots at the right end of your WhatsApp Status
  • Tap on 'Share to Facebook'
  • WhatsApp will ask you for permission to access Facebook. Click on 'Open'
  • Click on 'Share Now' option to share the Status as a Facebook story

This move appears to be part of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's plan to create a unified app combining WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.

According to India Today, Zuckerberg intends to let over 2.6 billion users communicate with each other cross-apps by 2020.
