On September 25, 2019, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) issued a public notice ordering former chairman of the Architecture Association of Kenya (AAK), Gad Opiyo Omondi, to report to their headquarters.
The DCI accused Mr. Opiyo of obtaining by false pretenses, but did not disclose further details about the alleged offense, including when it occurred or who the victim is.
Mr. Opiyo, a registered architect with over two decades of experience, has worked on numerous projects across the country, including residential houses, offices, and hotels.
Some of his notable projects include the Gilgil way bridge, Kinondo Golf resort in Diani, Lost Village Resort in Kisumu, and Milele apartments in Kisumu.
Mr. Opiyo is currently wanted by the DCI and is advised to report to their Nairobi headquarters.
