On September 26, 2019, a story broke out about Andrew Kibe's debt saga, which has left many in the entertainment industry talking.
According to court documents, Andrew Kibe borrowed Ksh.215,000 from his friend Joshua Ichang'i Weru in 2012, with an interest rate of 7.5% per month.
The loan was never repaid, and the amount has since ballooned to Ksh.2.5 million.
Andrew Kibe took to his social media to address the story, claiming that it was a case of betrayal among friends.
He said, 'I was in a fix and I approached my friend Joshua Ichang'i Weru for a soft loan of Ksh.215,000, but there was a caveat: he had to pay 7.5% interest with each passing month. That was back in 2012.'
He continued, 'Nilikuwa nimeshikwa am free now talk to me leteni maswali yote mlikuwa nayo kuwa na deni si kitu kubwa ata kuna country ziko na deni, lakini kunishika stesheni iyo nni ungwana kweli?'
