On Wednesday, Andrew Kibe, a well-known radio presenter at Kiss 100, found himself in a dramatic situation when he was arrested for failing to pay a debt that had accumulated to 2.5 million shillings over the past 7 years.

According to reports, Kibe had borrowed 215,000 shillings from a friend named Joshua Weru 7 years ago and was supposed to repay the amount with an additional 55,000 shillings in interest within 18 days.

Andrew Kibe took to his Instagram account to share a video confirming his arrest and subsequent release. He also used the opportunity to advise people to be more understanding and lenient towards their friends, especially when it comes to debts.

“I was arrested, but I am free now. Having a debt is not a big deal; no country is free from debt. Some people can be very petty. Even before we have seen the judge, the story is already out, and journalists are moving very fast. I pray that you treat your friends with leniency, even if they owe you money. I have been shown the true colors of someone I thought was my friend,” said Kibe.
