Members of Parliament (MPs) are now seeking to rescind their decision to approve the nomination of Mwende Mwinzi as Kenya's envoy to Seoul, South Korea.

The move comes after Ms Mwinzi failed to renounce her US citizenship, a requirement set by the House on June 6, 2019, when it approved the nomination of all envoy nominees with a caveat.

According to a report by the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations, chaired by Kajiado South MP Katoo ole Metito, the House should rescind its resolution approving Ms Mwinzi's nomination.

Ms Mwinzi's failure to renounce her US citizenship has invalidated part of the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee's report, which had recommended her appointment.
