ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi is in the United States, where he is expected to hold lectures and meet with Kenyans in the diaspora to promote his 2022 presidential bid.
During a meeting with Kenyans living in Newton, New Hampshire, Mudavadi emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of Kenyans abroad to the country's social and economic development.
'If Kenyans abroad lapse on their contributions back home, there will be serious implications on Kenya's development,' he said.
Mudavadi also called for the formulation of diaspora policies that are predictable and understood, and involve the active participation of Kenyans living abroad.
He is accompanied by a delegation of leaders, including Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi, Nambale MP Bunyasi Sakwa, and former Lamu Governor Issa Timamy, as well as his presidential bid strategists.
Mudavadi is scheduled to give a public lecture on the impact and implications of terrorism in Kenya and East Africa, and deliver a keynote address at a diaspora conference in New Jersey.
