Radio presenter Andrew Kibe has found himself in a financial bind, with a Nairobi court ordering him to repay a Ksh2.5 million loan owed to a former colleague, Joshua Ichang'i Weru.
According to court documents, Weru loaned Kibe Ksh215,000 in February 2012, with the agreement that the money would be repaid in 18 days with an additional Ksh55,000 interest.
However, Kibe defaulted on the loan, which has accumulated over the years and now stands at Ksh2.5 million.
Weru is now seeking the court's intervention to compel Kibe to repay the loan and the accrued interests, as well as the cost of the lawsuit.
As part of the court's directive, Kibe has been ordered to pay Ksh500,000 by next Thursday and appear in court to explain how he plans to clear the balance.
Andrew Kibe, a former NRG Radio presenter, hosts the Kiss FM morning show alongside Kamene Goro.
