Published on September 25, 2019, a Nairobi resident's shocking TV purchase has left many in stitches. The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, had purchased a TV from a local store in Nairobi's Luthuli Avenue.

However, upon opening the box, the resident was shocked to find a box of seremala, a type of African yam, instead of the TV they had paid for.

OMGVoice Kenya, a social media user, shared a photo of the incident on Facebook, captioning it, "Watu wa Luthuli Avenue wana kona ya pekee jehanamu."

The incident has sparked laughter and amusement among Nairobi residents, with many taking to social media to share their own experiences of being misled by fake products.
