On September 25, 2019, former NBA player Andre Emmett was tragically shot dead by two men in Dallas, Texas, while sitting in his car.
Emmett, 37, had recently played professionally in the BIG3 three-on-three league, where he was a beloved member of the family for two seasons.
The BIG3 league paid tribute to Emmett, stating, "The BIG3 is in a state of shock over the sudden and tragic death of Andre Emmett." They also added, "Andre was a member of the BIG3 family for two seasons and never without a smile on his face. His kindness towards others and easy-going demeanor made him a joy to be around."
Emmett also had successful stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and New Jersey Nets.
A probe has been launched into his death, with authorities confirming that the motive is yet to be established.
