On Tuesday, a gruesome discovery was made at the home of Kenyan cement tycoon Chetan Vyas in Kericho County. The lifeless body of Vyas, proprietor of Rai Cement, was found inside his bedroom at his home located within the Rai Cement factory premises in Sigowet, Kericho County.
According to Kericho Deputy Police Commander Paul Nasio, Vyas's killers gained access to the house through the roof, lifting tiles from above to enter through the kitchen store before proceeding to the bedroom where Vyas was sleeping.
Nasio revealed that Vyas's hands and legs were knotted with a rope, which was also tied around his neck. The suspects also disconnected the CCTV camera mounted outside the house, but their images were captured by the camera inside the house, albeit with their faces covered by masks.
The criminals made off with some bags, the contents of which remain unknown. Police have opened investigations into the killing of the businessman, and his body was taken to Kisumu County Hospital mortuary.
