On September 25, 2019, a gruesome murder shook the community in Sigowet/Soin sub-county, where Rai Cement boss Chetan Vyas was found dead at his house.
According to Kericho Deputy Police Commander Paul Nasio, the suspects gained access to the house through the roof, lifting tiles from the kitchen store before proceeding to the bedroom where Vyas was sleeping.
Interestingly, one of Vyas's last social media posts was a message of contentment and the importance of not being jealous, which reads, 'Don't be jealous with anyone. Don't compete with anyone. Just focus on becoming the best version of yourself.'
His murder comes barely days after a former treasury employee and her daughter were found murdered at their South B home.
May his killers be brought to justice and may he rest in peace.
