On Tuesday, a tragic discovery was made at the home of Chetan Vyas, the boss of Rai Cement, located within the factory premises in Sigowet/Soin sub county, Kericho county.
According to Kericho Deputy Police Commander Paul Nasio, the suspects gained access to the house through the roof, lifting tiles from the roof to enter through the kitchen store before proceeding to the bedroom where Vyas was sleeping.
As reported by Citizen Digital, Nasio stated, "They lifted the tiles from the roof, gaining access to the house through the kitchen store before proceeding to the bedroom where Siaz was sleeping," however, it is clear that the victim was Chetan Vyas.
Further investigation revealed that Vyas' hands and legs were bound with a rope that was also tied around his neck.
The suspects also disconnected the exterior CCTV camera, but their images were captured inside the house, although they were wearing masks at the time, making it impossible to identify them.
Additionally, the gangsters made away with some bags whose contents are unknown.
The body has been moved to Kisumu County Hospital mortuary, and murder investigations are currently underway.
