Published on September 25, 2019, a Spanish athlete's admiration for Eliud Kipchoge, the world's greatest marathoner, reached new heights when she boldly professed her love for him.
Eliud Kipchoge, a 34-year-old Kenyan athlete, is gearing up for the Ineos 1:59 challenge, a marathon he aims to complete in under two hours. The challenge is set to take place in Vienna, Austria, and Kipchoge is expected to have millions of eyes cheering him on during the race.
As Kipchoge trains in his native Elgeyo Marakwet county, a number of local and international tourists have flocked to see him in action. Among them are 20 athletes from Spain who have joined Kipchoge in training to learn the ways of the champion.
Paulah Cobo, a long-distance athlete from Spain, made an interesting confession when she spoke to the media. 'I'm in love with him. I wish him all the luck in the world, really. I would love him to beat the record,' she said between bouts of blushing.
The tourists collided with Kipchoge at Global Sports Communications as he undertook some speed sessions. The foreign athletes were left very impressed by Kenyan athletes' training regimes.
