According to reports, the EFA failed to perform its statutory role during the FIFA Best Awards, with the right to vote for the award handed to national team managers and captains from member nations, alongside a member of the media.
Despite being one of the top contenders for the award, Egypt's federation is understood to have given the voting a wide berth, with the country's only vote entered by Egyptian journalist Hany Danial, who opted for Sadio Mane and picked Salah as his third choice.
Salah's decision to distance himself from Egypt has sparked reports that he could call it quits with the national team after the latest row.
