On September 29th, the Nairobi racecourse will host the 49th Concours d'Elegance, a prestigious event in Kenya's motor sport calendar, sponsored by the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) for the eighth consecutive year.
With an influx of 20 entries from South Africa and Uganda, the event has solidified its Africa continental status. This year's event will feature a diverse range of classic cars and motorcycles, including a 1916 BSA, a 1969 Norton Commando, and a 1980 BMW Café Racer, courtesy of the Vintage Motorcycle Club of South Africa.
From Uganda, a contingent of five classic cars will be showcased, including a rare 1996 Mitsuoka Viewt and a 1980 Toyota Corona, a former class winner. The Ugandan and South African participants will also serve on the Concours d'Elegance panel at a breakfast press conference on September 24th at the Panafric Hotel.
Chris Pasha, Group Head of Marketing at CBA, will represent the bank at the press conference, alongside Peter Wanday, Chairman of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, and Bob Dewar, Event Director of the Concours.
