Published on September 25, 2019, Safaricom announced a significant milestone in the sales of their Neon smartphones, with over 600,000 units sold in 2019.

The Neon range has been a game-changer in the Kenyan market, offering quality and reliable smartphones at an affordable price. According to Michael Joseph, CEO of Safaricom, the devices were designed to cater to customers seeking quality and reliable smartphones at an affordable price.

With prices starting at KES 3,999, the Neon smartphones have been a hit among first-time smartphone users. The devices offer an optimum combination of screen-size, battery capacity, device storage, camera, and phone memory at low prices.

One of the key features of the Neon smartphones is their ability to deliver superior connectivity, offering fast data speeds off Safaricom's countrywide 4G network. In addition, the devices are engineered to deliver superior call quality, thanks to the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology.

Launched in June 2019, VoLTE technology enhances call quality, empowering Safaricom 4G customers to make crystal-clear voice calls, even in noisy environments. The technology also enables customers to make video calls with other capable VoLTE devices at no extra cost.

The Neon range of Smartphones are available under Safaricom's Maisha Ni Digital campaign through the firm's more than 50 shops across the country, Safaricom dealers, and online at Masoko.com.
