Kitany's mother, Rhoda Chepkoech Kitany, a preacher at Africa Gospel church, revealed that Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was involved in the formative years of Senator Mithika Linturi's marriage to his estranged wife Marianne Kitany.

According to Rhoda, Sudi got down on one knee and asked for Kitany's hand in marriage on behalf of Linturi during a church fundraiser in 2016.

The fundraiser, which raised Sh4.2 million, was attended by several high-profile guests, including Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, and Energy CS Charles Keter.

During her cross-examination, Rhoda revealed that Linturi visited her in the company of 19 people and had a pick-up full of food.

She also revealed that Linturi bought her a car, which she showcased in court, and thanked Linturi saying it has helped her spread the gospel.

The pastor added that during the introduction ceremony, Kitany left with Linturi's group because she was married according to tradition.

Rhoda has since reported the matter to the DCI and it's still under investigation.

On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, Kitany's mother appeared in court, where she narrated the events surrounding Linturi's marriage to Kitany.
