Published on September 25, 2019, rumors of a potential divorce between Tanzanian musician Ali Kiba and his Kenyan wife Amina Khalef have been circulating on social media.

The rumors gained traction after Ali Kiba's younger brother Abdu held a birthday party for his son at Ali Kiba's house, with their wives noticeably absent.

However, speaking to Bongo5, Ali Kiba cautioned against taking social media at face value, saying, "Muda mwingine ni vizuri kuishi maisha ya kibinadamu na asilia…Unatakiwa uamini unachokiona sio unachokisikia."

He further emphasized the importance of using social media responsibly, stating, "Tusiishi sana social media, kwa sababu zipo kwa sababu ya kazi flani. Tuzitumie vizuri kwa sababu kuna inchi zingine zimekataza izo kutokana na adhari ambayo wanahisi kwamba inaweza kuharibu jamii."

Ali Kiba also addressed the rumors surrounding the cause of their marital problems, denying reports that Amina's refusal to stay in Tanzania with his mother and siblings was the reason for their issues.

He clarified, "It is true our marriage is on the rocks, but it is not true that I have divorced her," and added, "I have not taken her back to Mombasa. It is also not true that she refused to stay with my mother and siblings. Stop spreading lies and work."
