On a social media post, Huddah Monroe recalled her childhood growing up in an abusive environment, where her stepfather would beat her mother.
Published on September 25, 2019, Huddah's post aimed to encourage her followers going through tough times to stay strong.
She shared that she never had a role model growing up but still managed to make something out of herself.
'You don't need role models to be who you want to be in life! Be yourself! Do you! It's so hard being someone else!' Huddah wrote.
She also revealed that due to their poverty, nobody wanted to be associated with her family, and they would often receive donations of clothes and shoes.
'Nobody liked us, no one wanted to be associated with us coz we were poor...' Huddah shared.
Despite her difficult past, Huddah emphasized that her past does not determine her future and that she deserves everything great and more.
'Your past is what happened to you it's up to you to make your present what you ever envisioned!' she wrote.
