Published in August by Page Street, the cookbook 'Food You Love but Different' by Danielle Oron offers a refreshing take on familiar recipes. Oron, a chef from Atlanta, drew inspiration from her desire to simplify cooking while still making it exciting for her family.

Oron's approach involves tweaking classic dishes by cross-pollinating ingredients from different parts of the world. This technique allows busy cooks to change their routine without feeling overwhelmed.

According to Dawn Perry, the food director for Real Simple magazine, Oron's cookbook is a great way to dip a toe into new recipes without committing to a whole new cooking style. Perry, who is currently on maternity leave, understands the challenges of weeknight cooking and emphasizes the importance of stocking a well-rounded pantry.

By keeping a standard set of pantry items in stock and rotating in seasonal produce and animal proteins, cooks can create a 'pantry-based program' that eliminates the need for meal planning. Perry believes that meal planning can be restrictive and only suitable for highly organized individuals.
